SmackDown Expansion: WWE Plans Return to Three-Hour Format in 2027
WWE plans to expand Friday Night SmackDown back to three hours, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select. SmackDown currently runs two hours, but a source at USA Network told Fightful Select that WWE expects to move the show back to a three-hour format starting in January 2027.
WWE is targeting January 8 for the change. While the date could still shift, USA Network is reportedly planning the expansion as part of its new-year programming schedule.
