The July 27th live presentation of Monday Night RAW comes to us from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles (Inglewood), CA. We’ve got a loaded card for the go-home RAW show on a head-on collision to SummerSlam. The World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will come face-to-face one last time before their highly-hyped title fight. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce has ordered a weigh-in between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, an event that will be moderated by Paul “Triple H” Levesque on route to their Hell in a Cell Match at The Biggest Event of the Summer. And Joe Hendry is looking to treat the WWE Universe to a concert with special guest Danhausen. In action tonight, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca will be ready for a slugfest when she puts her gold on the line against Raquel Rodriguez of The Judgment Day. The World Tag Team Championship may not be on the line, but plenty of pride will be when The Vision of Bron Breakker and Austin Theory go head-to-head against The Alpha Academy of Otis and Akira Tozawa. After the mighty Rusev eliminated him during an Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match on Raw two weeks ago, Je’Von Evans is looking to get bouncy against The Bulgarian Brute. And the AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio will once again take on Ethan Page.
We got the hottest event of the summer in sight – so let’s get to the SLAM and start it up right!
We start live in the arena where the Hell in a Cell is being lowered around the ring with The CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque and the RAW GM Adam Pearce inside. We’re getting the “official” MMA-style weigh-in between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar to start the show. We’re shown a half-in-half shot of Femi on the right and Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman on the left, both walking to the ring being escorted by LA County police officers (obviously local independent wrestlers).
Femi walks through the Gorilla Position first as “Hands Of Fate” blares. Everyone chants and does the Femi strut. He’s announced as “The 2026 King of the Ring” as he gets into the Cell. There are the typical five “police officers” there that came in with him. Pearce said that in 5 days, Femi goes to battle with the most decorated combat sport athlete in history. But, before we get there, he politely asks Femi to stand on the scale. Femi removes his shirt, but nothing else as he’s wearing sweatpants and sneakers, and then steps on the scale. Femi is officially 302 pounds.
Then, Pearce announces the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar. Out comes Lesnar to his pyro. Michael Cole reminds us that Lesnar is 2-0 in the steel structure, while this is Femi’s first time. Four more cops that were escorting Lesnar hop into the Cell before he did. But just before Lesnar went through the door, he steps back out and locks the door with a padlock and chain, locking Femi and everyone else in. Femi goes up to the door and tries to intimidate Lesnar as Lesnar backs off taunting him with the key. Paul Heyman takes a mic.
Heyman announces they have a slight change of plans. To allow Lesnar in HiaC, he said that’s not a good idea. Heyman said we’re talking about the most violent, most successful athlete in the history of combat sports. Heyman calls him the “former” undisputed, reigning, defending, UFC heavyweight champion of the world. Lesnar is laughing at Femi on top of the announce desk as Heyman said they’re talking about the most non-PG ass-kicker in the history of WWE. Heyman’s mic started to go out so Heyman said they obviously had a sound guy from California. With a new mic, Heyman said to Femi, with all due respect to the beating he gave Lesnar at WrestleMania, Femi is an underdog going into the match. Heyman’s mic goes out again. Heyman said Lesnar is the Beast of the Brocktagon, and has never been defeated inside HiaC and it’s a streak that will never be broken. Lesnar conquered Taker’s WrestleMania undefeated streak. And Femi, the wannabe ruler, thinks he’s going to snap the streak of Lesnar? “My ass!” Heyman said. They’ve probably walked at least a complete revolution around the Cell by now. Heyman said Femi may be the most dominant bastard to walk into the WWE in 24 years. But he cannot beat Lesnar inside HiaC.
Heyman said Lesnar got on a scale in the back. Weighing in at 303 pounds (1 pound more than Femi, wow) … “BR-R-RAWK L-L-LESNAR~!” After Lesnar taunts Femi some more with the key to the Cell’s lock, he takes the mic and tells Femi he’ll see him at SummerSlam “b*tch!”
As Lesnar is going back up the ramp, Femi now has a mic. He said Lesnar runs away like he always does. Lesnar thinks he’s free to go? Saturday is coming, HiaC is coming, and Femi is coming. So regardless of how free Lesnar things he is, Femi is not locked in the Cell with Lesnar. Lesnar is locked in the Cell with Femi. They both give each other the middle finger as Lesnar backs up the ramp.

And now, Femi starts punching out the nine cops (local indie wrestlers) that are locked in the Cell with him. The black officer is the first one to take a Chokeslam from Femi (same as last time poor guy). Femi attempts a Fall From Grace on another cop, but he accidentally slipped off of Femi’s shoulders onto his head (ouch) so Femi tried again (Graves was yelling to look at Femi’s power to cover it up) and nailed it. Femi posed inside the Cell after that.
ANALYSIS: Again: no fighting, no crying, no bawling, and no brawling. I’m sure some fans wanted a little contact between them. But saving it all for SummerSlam really builds the anticipation to the point where it’s expected to explode inside HiaC. Taking the violence out on the cops/local indie wrestlers makes sense plus it gives those indy guys exposure. And great work from Heyman as usual taunting Femi, despite the mic troubles. I think they got their steps in and walked at least several complete revolutions around the Cell as he was yapping along while Lesnar taunted Femi with the key to the lock.
I think this is going to be a great match on day one. Give them plenty of time to finally get it out of their system and beat the blazes outta each other. I’m still picking Femi to win. As I stated before, Lesnar doesn’t need this win as he’ll likely have a strong showing anyways even if he loses. Femi getting the “W” would continue his strong main roster push with a nod, having one of the biggest rookie years thus far. Then, his next stop can be the WHC title shot he earned in the King of the Ring tourney.
We now continue our video production journey for the match between the World Heavyweight Champ Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins with Chapter VI: Surprise. This takes place at the 2022 Royal Rumble, Reigns vs Rollins for the blue Universal Championship. Reigns came down to his typical Bloodline entrance. But then The Shield music started and Reigns began the psychological warfare by coming through the crowd dressed in his old Shield gear. Reigns said the moment he saw him in that Shield vest, it pissed him off. Rollins said he owned Reigns that night. It showed Reigns being DQ’ed with multiple chair shots to Rollins’ back (which wasn’t why he was initially DQ’ed). Rollins said he didn’t walk away with Reigns’ title, but he took another piece of his soul.
ANALYSIS: They were trying to go for poetic justice that Reigns got revenge on Rollins by hitting him with chair shots causing a DQ, like how Rollins hit Reigns with the chair shot to break up The Shield. Even though, if you saw the match, Reigns snapped when Rollins tried to give him the Shield brothers fist bump. Reigns lost it and locked in the Guillotine tight. Even though Rollins made it to the ropes, Reigns refused to let go giving Rollins the win by DQ but Reigns keeps the title. The chair shots came afterwards. Rollins never got his rematch with Reigns since, even though he’s held the WHC title a few times. Alas, here we are.
We’re now shown the back parking lot of the Intuit Dome as two black SUVs drive up. The Usos get out of one, and Jacob Fatu and Reigns out of the other. They’re all wearing their black Bloodline tees as a stagehand hands Reigns his WHC title. The face-to-face with Rollins is later tonight. For now, let’s take a break.
Back live in the arena as the World Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker and Austin Theory of the Vision enter alongside “The Vision Queen” Maxxine Dupri and Logan Paul with his left arm brace. Let’s break as they make their way to the ring.
We’re back and The Alpha Academy of Otis and Akira Tozawa come out.
Face Michael Cole is play-by-play, heel Corey Graves is on color commentary, “Amazing Hair” Alicia Taylor is the ring announcer, and Jackie Redmond will be our backstage correspondent.
The Vision – Bron Breakker & Austin Theory (w/ Maxxine Dupri & Logan Paul) vs Alpha Academy – Otis & Akira Tozawa
This is another non-title match-up with the tag team champs. Otis and Theory start things off. Mayhe not, as Theory backs off and lets Breakker tag in. Otis throws Breakker to the ropes and they collide, so-selling anything. Otis hit the ropes and tried to Shouldertackle Breakker who no-sold, barking away. Breakker tried for a Running Clothesline, but Otis ducked, Breakker bounced off the ropes, Otis let him bounce off the other side and finally nailed a Shouldertackle, taking Breakker down. Tozawa tags in as they double-team Breakker. Tozawa kicks and punches Breakker in the corner, but Breakker picks him up and tosses Tozawa into the heel’s corner with multiple Shouldertackles. Theory tags in and sends Tozawa into another corner with more Shouldertackles. He throws Tozawa to the opposite corner and charges but Tozawa double-kicks Theory. Tozawa off the second rope and hits a Headscissors, causing Theory to roll out of the ring. Tozawa tried to Dropkick him through the bottom rope, but Theory moved and ran away. Tozawa gave chase as Theory ran back into the ring and distracted the ref as Dupri grabbed Tozawa’s legs. Theory tried to take advantage, but Tozawa chopped him in the face, causing Theory to distract the ref now as Breakker hits a running Clothesline on Tozawa. Theory hits a kick, sending Tozawa to the announce desk. This is the cue for a mid-match break.
We’re back and it’s all The Vision with Breakker kicking Tozawa in the corner. Breakker lifts Tozawa over his head with a Military Press and hits a double-knees coming down for a two-count. As the ref was checking on Tozawa, Breakker punched Otis on the head as he fell down to the floor. The straps come off as Breakker gets ready for a big spear in the corner, but he moved just in time as Breakker crashed and burned into the steel post (it’s his favorite move). Theory tags himself in and grabs Tozawa as we see Otis down on the mat. Theory tried a move and Tozawa flipped over. Theory tried to charge, but Tozawa moved and Theory hit the top corner turnbuckle.
Suddenly, here comes Otis as the crowd went nuts. Otis with a Shouldertackle and a Clothesline to Theory. He throws Theory against the ropes and nails him with a Back Elbow. Otis picks up Theory and tosses him to the mat. In comes Breakker but he eats a Back Elbow by Otis. Both Vision members are at opposite corners now so fasten your seatbelts. Here comes Otis with Splashes to both Breakker and Theory. Breakker charged, but Otis shoved him into Theory in the corner, setting up a Double Splash by Otis (after a D-X chop). Theory rolls outside as Otis rips off his tee and tags in Tozawa. But not before Otis hits the Caterpillar Splash. Tozawa hits the ropes and a Suicide Dive onto Theory on the outside. He remembered Theory was the legal man, so he threw Theory back into the ring as Tozawa ran to the top rope. Paul suddenly leaped onto the apron and argued with the ref. Tozawa went for a Senton, but the distraction was long enough for Theory to get his knees up. On the outside, Otis gets thrown to the steel post. Breakker tags back in as Theory holds Tozawa up. Breakker build up momentum off the ropes and a Super Spear for the win.
WINNER: The Vision (9 minutes)
ANALYSIS: ***
This was a decent matchup where, near the end, it was actually believable Alpha Academy might get the win. But the numbers game won once again. I don’t mind The Vision having strong showings like this, even if they’re non-title matches. But, eventually, they’re going to have to defend them.
I actually thought that, since this match was so close to SummerSlam, it might lead to a title defense at the hottest show of the summer. There’s rumors flying around that they may be planning on adding a 13th match, possibly for The Vision’s tag team titles being considered. It’s all depending on how each day’s match timings even out once they calculate it. Coud we get a last-minute addition? Literally last-minute, like even as soon as the day of the event? Maybe one of those free pre-show matches since it’s a three-hour pre-show? I’m willing to be patient and see what they choose to do. Even though it would be a shame if neither tag team titles are defended at the biggest party of the summer.
After the match, Breakker and Theory attacked Tozawa. Just as Theory holds up Tozawa again for another Super Spear by Breakker, Otis leaps into the ring, Clotheslining Breakker then Theory. Big Clothesline by Otis on Theory as he dragged Theory to the corner. Otis goes up but Dupri hops on the apron and begins flirting with Otis. This distracts him enough for Theory and Breakker to hit a double-teamed Powerbomb. Theory holds Otis up as Breakker charges out of the corner for a Spear. As The Vision is leaving down the ramp, Theory grabbed a steel chair from someone in the front row (looked like a little kid) and smashed Otis’s head against the steel post.
ANALYSIS: The chair shot onto the ring post looked and sounded vicious. But it was done safely as Theory struck the solid post instead of Otis’s head. Cole freaking out helped as well. That was a safe and effective way to give The Vision massive heel heat, especially Theory who needed a sprinkle of bad attitude. Even though there really wasn’t any reason behind that attack. But hey, they’re heels.
And that kid got a moment to remember. That’s what it’s all about.
Now we’re backstage with Jackie Redmond interviewing LA Knight. She reminds him on Saturday he’s in 6-man tag team action against The Bloodline. They all know how The Bloodline rolls. What is he thinking? Knight said he’s thinking he just drove down Sepulveda Blvd, made a left on Century, then pulled right into the Intuit Dome here in Los Angeles. Your boy is in the building. “YEAH~!” But then he heard Cole say Knight was paranoid. He is paranoid. He said he told you. Once The Bloodline gets back together it’ll be sneak attacks and screw jobs. He hopes they’re feeling big and good. Because Saturday night, they’re going to put The Bloodline in a hole six-feet deep and not coming back. So when you meet the BFT, that’s just a fact of life. “YEAH~!”
ANALYSIS: He made a bunch of great points saying he predicted what would happen if he got close to The Bloodline getting back together. He even threw in some shout-outs how to get to the Intuit Dome in Ingle… uh, I mean, Los Angeles. I sort of liked the one he did last week a little better when he compared Fatu with Mortal Kombat references. Still, his promos are rambling, they’re hot, and they’re just what we need to get excited for SummerSlam and that 6-man tag team match. These Superstars are getting into their character they’re allowed to do and really rolling all-out with it. I like it. Yeah!
Next, we’re treated to a pair of video packages from both Raquel Rodriguez and Sol Ruca. Rodriguez said two weeks ago Ruca got lucky. Tonight there’s no tricks, no games. She’s not letting that Women’s IC title slip through her fingers. She yelled in Espanol and said she was taking the gold.
Ruca Said she knows what she’s getting into. She knew Rodriguez was going to throw everything at her. Thing is, she’s beaten her once. She will beat her again.
ANALYSIS: Man, these promos have been dialed up to 11. Even though this is for the title tonight, it was still a good promo with both women being intense. They were acting like they were talking to each other on video: Rodriguez facing to the left and Ruca to the right. That was a cool effect.
We’re shown backstage in the Judgment Day’s locker room where Roxanne Perez is getting Rodriguez psyched up for her match tonight. Then, we’re shown Ruca stretching for the match. Let’s let them take a break.
Now back, we’re given a highlight of the night video package featuring Chad Gable. He said he chased success and championships until he had nothing left. They show Gable challenging Gunther for the IC title but getting beat. Gable said no friends, no respect, no dignity. Then they showed his heel turn on Sami Zayn. Gable said he burned it all down thinking gold would fill the hole, but it never did. It then shows Gable in AAA removing Dragon Lee’s mask. Then, at “Noche de Los Grandes”, Gable lost the Mask vs Mask match and had to unmask himself. Gable said he dug his way back, the old school way. Owning his mistakes and making amends with the people he hurt and with himself. He said it set him free. Free to press on towards a championship without needing it for validation. Saying someone needs it is just something people say when they don’t know why. But now he knows why. Gable said he was born, raised, and forged here in Minneapolis. He’s not walking into the ring as the guy who lost himself. He’s the guy who found himself again. Representing his family, friends, himself, and his state of Minnesota. Same as he did at the Olympic Games. With Pride, honor, and integrity. He’s taking the Intercontinental Title as the man he was always supposed to be. “Minnesota, I’m coming home.”
ANALYSIS: Wow. Another super-hyped intense promo with dramatic music. I’m loving them. I especially liked how he explained how things went from turning heel back in the OG Alpha Academy to where he is now as a fan-favorite face.
I’m still picking Gable to win his first singles title at SummerSlam Day Two. It would be a great moment for everyone in Minneapolis for the hometown hero to bring home the gold. It might even be the first match on the card during the first hour on ESPN and could potentially be one of the better matches of the weekend. Get the fans excited and happy for the remainder of the show.
Now, a video package with IYO SKY. She said ever since Night of Champions, she’s in Liv Morgan’s head. She speaks Japanese, but it’s translated for us. “You thought you could beat me for the crown. But in the end, I was the one who became Queen of the Ring! I proved you wrong that night: you alone are not as strong as you think you are. And most importantly?” (back to English) She said you are not the greatest champion of a-aaall time. (now back to Japanese) “I have been in the presence of great champions, and great teachers and leaders within the female locker room we share. But you pale in comparison to them all. You are arrogant, and that may just be your downfall. You talk a lot, but I think it Is because you are scared to lose. So, Liv? I am ready to prove you wrong again. I am excited to face you for that title at SummerSlam…” (and back to English again) She said she beat Morgan once, and she’ll do it all over again to become the new Women’s World Champion!
ANALYSIS: The hype-ity hype continues. This one was really good because even though SKY can speak English, she prefers to integrated her Japanese into scripted promos.
It would be nice for SKY to win the title. But I think Morgan is going to win and continue to be a dominant Women’s World Champion heel for The Judgment Day a bit longer.
Now, we’re back live in the arena as “Who Want It” hits. We’re ready to get bouncy with Je’Von Evans as he makes his way to the ring for his matchup with Rusev. That’s next after a bouncy break.
We’re back as Rusev finishes his entrance and gets in the ring.
Je’Von Evans vs Rusev:
Right off the bell, Rusev attacked Evans with a knee. Evans gets punched into the corner as Rusev hits multiple Shouldertackles. Evans nearly collapses out of the corner as Rusev picks him up for a Headbutt. Evans is thrown to the ropes and given a Clothesline by Rusev. Rusev tried to toss Evans to the ropes again, but Evans put on the brakes. Rusev charged and Evans caught him with a boot to the head. Rusev charged again and Evans flipped off the ropes out of the way. Evans in the corner as he tried to kick Rusev, but he got caught. Rusev threw his leg down and, this time, Evans hit Rusev with a Superkick. Dropkick out of the corner onto Rusev. Evans hits a Springboard Headscissors on Rusev, then a Standing Dropkick which sends Rusev out of the ring. Evans tried for a Suicide Dive but got hit with a right hand. Back in the ring, Rusev attacked Evans in the corner then hit a right Uppercut. Fallaway Slam by Rusev sending Evans out of the ring. Rusev tried to pick up Evans, but Evans sent Rusev into the ring post and then Superkicks Rusev into the timekeeper’s area. Evans runs around the ring and jumps onto Rusev who catches Evans and throws Evans over the timekeeper’s barricade. Rusev stops the ref’s count by getting in and out of the ring. When suddenly, Evans leaps over the barricade and takes out Rusev. Evans said we’ll be right back after these messages. So we will.
Once back Rusev is in control in the ring. Evans wasn’t able to get much offense in for a while. Not until Evans ducked several shots by Rusev and started non-stop hammering Rusev in the corner and hit The Red Dot. Rusev went outside as the ref checked on him. It looked like The Red Dot got a bit too close and clocked Rusev good. Rusev came back on the apron, and Evans punched him back down. Evans hit the ropes and flies with a Suicide Dive over the top onto Rusev. Rusev got back into the ring as Evans launched himself off the top rope back in. Machka Kick by Rusev and covers for a close call.
Rusev signals for the finish. Rusev tries to get Evans in The Accolade submission as Evans flails wildly trying to stop that as he gets to the ropes. Evans breaks free, hit the ropes and knees Rusev to the mat. Evans goes for the OG Cutter, but Rusev catches him and this time gets Evans in The Accolade. Evans gets on his knees, crawls to the ropes and breaks the hold. Rusev yells at Evans to get up and Rusev ran at Evans for a Machka Kick. Evans flipped out of the way and hit a Stunner on Rusev. Evans climbed the ropes and hit the OG Cutter for the win.
WINNER: Je’Von Evans (12 minutes)
ANALYSIS: *** ½
It was really a rematch from the IC Title #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match a while back where Rusev eliminated Evans via submission. But it was still great to watch these two guys go at it. Rusev is the perfect monster heel that’s tough to beat, since he likes slow and methodical power moves he had trouble keeping up with Evans’ bounciness. And Evans gave it his all, taking every bump and even had Rusev’s Accolade submission well scouted. Great match by both men.
Even though there was a brief scary spot around the middle of the match when Evans cleaned Rusev’s clock with a Red Dot move. Rusev limply fell to the mat flat and looked like he had his hands up in the air calling for the ref right before he rolled out. The camera didn’t show what was happening on the outside, only showing Evans in the ring watching Rusev and the ref on the outside. That’s why I think something bumped into him. Cole said it looked like Rusev got hit in the left eye or between the eyes. Fortunately, Rusev got back into the match after the nasty bump. That’s when he slowed the pace down a little and got ready for the finish. Sometimes accidents happen. You make sure you’re okay, suck it up, and keep on going.
Great job by Evans making his win look believable and getting the crowd behind him every step of the way. And great job by Rusev taking a clean loss.
After the match your DiGiorno Fact of the Night was that SummerSlam’s WHC match will be the first time Reigns and Rollins went one-on-one since 2022. That was when Rollins took stock in Reigns’ head during that title defense and Reigns got himself intentionally DQ’ed. I have no idea why Rollins never got a rematch. Four years is way too long.
Now, we continue with the next installment of the Reigns vs Rollins video package series. This is Chapter VII: Old Ghosts. This one took place at WrestleMania XL (40) in 2024. Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes in a Bloodline Rules no-DQ match. Near the end of the match chaos ensued, which left both The Rock and Reigns in the ring with an unconscious Rhodes. The Shield music hit and Rollins came out in his Shield gear with a chair. Rollins said he was the thorn in Reigns’ side and the ghost in his dreams. He was his downfall. Roman said that night he lost four years of his life, his blood, sweat, and tears. Hard work he’ll never get back. But for a moment, to put a chair in Rollins’ back, he doesn’t regret one second of it.
ANALYSIS: This was the night Reigns finally lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Rhodes. A legendary title reign of 1,316 days as the champ while he was the “Tribal Chief” of The Bloodline. As for Rollins, he was working while injured on both night of WM 40 with a partially torn medial meniscus. If you noticed, when he came out to interfere with Reigns’ match he was very slow and favoring his knee. He couldn’t use the chair in time on The Rock, so Reigns improvised by giving him a Superman Punch and a chair shot of his own. But I’m sure it still felt like poetic justice.
Backstage, likely in his locker room, the black suit clad Rollins was looking at himself in a mirror like he’s thinking about the face-to-face confrontation later tonight. And break.
When we come back, it’s time for a concert. Or maybe a bathroom break. Joe Hendry appears in the ring playing his guitar. Danhausen is then shown in the ring pretending to play the organ, and they sing a duet about The Judgement Day, their issues with Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh’s big head. Hendry and Danhausen do a synchronized song and dance with the MiniHausens to “I believe that… you are cursed!” The LA Clippers cheerleaders arrived to randomly dance along with them. Boxer Ryan Garcia joined the conga line with the Clippers on the floor, then he went into the ring pretending to play with Hendry’s guitar. Then he hit Hendry with a guitar shot to the back. Suddenly, Mysterio and McDonagh appear and attack Danhausen. They then attacked two of the MiniHausens with kicks and the third with a Powerslam by McDonagh. Frog Splash to Danhausen by Mysterio. They pose in the ring with Garcia.
ANALYSIS: I actually thought Garcia was having a good time the way he was joining in on the terrible concert just before the attack. I really hope these financial issues between them come to an end soon so Danhausen and Mysterio can move on.
Next we have a video package for the IC Champ Penta. Penta said he’s happy Chad found his way. He’s happy he changed. But redemption doesn’t end by taking his IC Championship. He said Chad disrespects him and lucha libre. But he forgives him. But that doesn’t rewrite the past. He now speaks in Spanish: “I know you won over the crowds of Mexico with a great mach. But that isn’t enough to beat Penta and certainly not enough to take this championship away from me.” In English again, Penta said Gable reminded him why he has to fight even harder at SummerSlam. He’s not fighting for revenge. He’s fighting for his legacy, his title, and those who believe in him. He will see him at SummerSlam. “Porque yo soy Penta! Cero miedo!”
ANALYSIS: Another intense promo. Other than the two main events, I’m really looking forward to this one the most. One of the best Mexican luchador high-flyers in AAA against a former luchador gone back to his amateur technical wrestling roots. I may be expecting too much, but we could be getting a match of the year contender from this one.
I’m still firmly convinced Gable will win his first ever singles title in his hometown, making for one of the best feel-good moments. Penta has had his time. Now let’s hope they pass the torch to Gable and give him a good run with the IC title.

We come back live and “All Ego” Ethan Page is finishing his way to the ring.
Rey Mysterio vs Ethan Page:
They both lock up and Page sends Mysterio to the mat in a headlock. Mysterio rolls around and grabs Page’s left arm. Page then does the same to Mysterio. Mysterio reaches the ropes, but Page gets Mysterio into a headlock. Page throws Mysterio to the ropes and Sholdertackles him down. Page takes some time showing off before throwing Mysterio to the ropes again. But this time Mysterio holds on and gives Page a Back Elbow. Mysterio leaps onto Page and takes him down to cover but not even a one-count. Kicks and punches to Page by Mysterio and a Headscissors which sends Page to the middle rope in position for an early 6-1-9. Mysterio goes for it but Page kicks him in the gut. Page tries to get Mysterio up for a Powerslam, but Mysterio reverses and lands on Page. As Mysterio comes up to Page, he grabs Mysterio sending him head-first into the middle turnbuckle. Kicks in the corner to Mysterio by Page. Page throws Mysterio hard front-first to the opposite corner. Page picks up Mysterio, grabs his arms behind his back, and stretches his back with his boot. Mysterio kicks Page in the gut behind him to get out. He leaps on top of Page’s shoulders and punches Page. Mysterio dumps Page to the outside but stays on Page’s shoulders. Page takes Mysterio who is still on his shoulders and Powerbombs Mysterio onto the ring apron and we cut to a mid-match break.
The rest went back and forth, along with a couple of near fall attempts by both competitors when Page hits a Bodyslam on Mysterio and soon after Mysterio hits a Tornado DDT on Page. Mysterio climbs the ropes but Page kicks him to stop his ascent. Page and Mysterio battle on the top rope and Mysterio knocks Page off and sends him to the apron and out of the ring. Mysterio hits a Top Rope Headscissors sending Page onto the front of the announce desk. Mysterio sends Page back into the ring, but he hangs onto the ring apron skirt. Mysterio with a Standing Dropkick sending Page across the middle rope as Mysterio goes for the 6-1-9 one more time. But Page used the skirt to block the move. Page drives Mysterio into the ring post while Mysterio was still on the apron. Page pulls Mysterio back into the ring and hits the Egoplex and the win.
WINNER: Ethan Page (12 minutes)
ANALYSIS: *** ¼
It was a good competitive match with Page getting to battle some more luchadores instead of the same old mashups. Page played the typical cocky heel he is getting the better over his opponents, while the veteran Mysterio did a good job of getting the crowd behind him trying to fight back. There were multiple attempts by Mysterio to get a 6-1-9 but none succeeded. I just think that made Mysterio look a little too weak. Instead of random mashups how about giving Page another storyline to do.
And now, we get Liv Morgan’s video package response to IYO SKY’s video package. Morgan said she doesn’t understand who she’s facing at SummerSlam. She is THE Liv Morgan. She’s the girl everyone underestimated and overlooked as she scratched and clawed her way to the top. Morgan said she will do anything to stay there. Some might think Morgan is arrogant, but when you have her resume you don’t care what people think. But she does care about her championship. Which means now she cares about SKY. Morgan said SKY did beat her at Queen of the Ring. SKY is one of the best in the world. But SKY is wrong about her. SKY is not in her head, and she’s not scared of the thought of losing at SummerSlam. She is so much stronger than SKY thinks she is. Morgan thanked SKY for the opportunity at SummerSlam to remind everyone exactly who she is. The greatest Women’s World Champion of all time.
ANALYSIS: Another strong promo. This one is a bit confusing, as Morgan calls herself the greatest champion of all time. She’s won top championship gold before in the past, most recently the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42. It’s now been about 100 days since her most recent title reign began and not one title defense until now. Sure, she’s been a bit busy with The Judgment Day but come on.
Now backstage in Danhausen’s lab, his MiniHausens are getting checked on when RAW GM Adam Pearce comes in and tells him to give the money back to Dom. Danhausen first said never, but then he had an idea: human moneys on a pole, hang it up. Pearce was confused, then Danhausen asked him if he ever watched wrestling. Pearce said if that’s what’s going to end this and get it out of his show then fine. He declares a human monies on a pole match at SummerSlam is official. And he needs a drink.

ANALYSIS: Danhausen vs Dom at SummerSlam is now a human monies on a pole match. How, um… riveting. Probably some sort of ladder match where you climb the ladder and grab the briefcase full of human monies. But at least this should end the compelling storyline with The Judgment Day once and for all so both parties can move on. As much as I like Danhausen’s silliness, this has gone on long enough.
I would’ve just sued them for the human moneys they owed me, but that’s just me.
Back live, we’re Day One-ish as The Usos of Jimmy and Jey are “YEET~!”-ing in the crowd. They come down to the ring for a promo after the break.
Back from break, the Usos are in the ring while the crowd is begging to roll it back. They do and we get more “YEET~!”-ing.
Jimmy said to Los Angeles that The Bloodline is now in their city. It got some light cheers. Maybe because some folks are from Inglewood, I dunno. Anyways, Jey then said they got a little message for those stepping up to The Bloodline: LA Knight, Royce Keys, Solo Sikoa. Jey issues them their warning shot.
Sikoa appears through the crowd. He said they started it when they ran back to Reigns. They said The Bloodline is here, but Sikoa doesn’t see The Bloodline. Because the real Bloodline had Sikoa in it. He said they don’t have a chance at SummerSlam.
Jimmy said to get over the jokes, The Bloodline is the best thing that ever happened to him. He said to listen to The Tribal Chief ad run the play. Or else.
Sikoa said or else… what? Send him a warning shot, “YEET~!” for 30 minutes, bore everyone to sleep? Why would he want to come back to the family when he loves where he’s at. He goes for a cheap pop and said everyone in Los Angeles, CA, loves where Sikoa is at. Sikoa said he’s got a warning shot for them. Tell Reigns he can kiss his ass. At SummerSlam, you got Solo-Dolo-Sikoa, the heavy-hitter Mr Royce Keys, and the megastar that everybody calls L-A-Knight “YEAH~!”
Cue the megastar himself as he makes his way out. Let him talk to ya. Knight said his heart doesn’t pump for their family drama. But Sikoa feels the same as he does, they want to knock their heads off. Maybe down the line you can patch things up. Whatever you have to do to makes things fine, because at this point they have to pay penance for the things you’ve been doing. Knight said they screwed him out of a match with Jacob Fatu last week. Then they screwed Keys out of a #1 contenders match on Friday. Far as he is concerned, the talking is done, the clock is ticking, and he’ll see them at SummerSlam. Knight starts to walk back up the ramp but then stops at the top. He said he could walk down this L.A. isle, in the middle of this L.A. building, and get in that L.A. ring. Him and Sikoa could stomp both of them L.A. style with everyone saying, L-A-Knight- “YEAH~!” And that starts right now!
Knight attacks Jey and Sikoa attacks Jimmy in the ring. When “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu comes down to the ring. Both Sikoa and Knight try to double-team Fatu, but he just pushes them off as Fatu hits a Superkick on Sikoa and a Back Bodydrop on Knight. Fatu Splashes both Knight and Sikoa in the corners.
Now here comes Royce Keys down the ramp. Jimmy tries to intercept but gets thrown into the fan barricade. Keys punches away on Jey before he gets in the ring. Superkick by Jey but Keys no-sold it and gave Jey a Clothesline. Keys turns to face Fatu as they stare each other down. Blows back and forth until Fatu pushes Keys away against the ropes, but Keys nails Fatu with a Clothesline as he bounced off the ropes. Keys turns around into a Tongan Death Grip. Kick to Fatu from behind by Sikoa and then a Samoan Spike. Keys with a Spinebuster to Fatu. Knight hit the BFT and Fatu rolled out of the ring. The Bloodline retreated up the ramp, Fatu reluctantly, as the fight ended.

ANALYSIS: These last few weeks have been about the chaos between this six-man tag-team match. At the end of last week, The Bloodline stood tall. This week, Solo, Keys, and Knight got one on them. That’s typical WWE booking: you were strong last week so now it’s my turn to be strong this week. This makes things look even to that no one goes in looking like they have an advantage.
It’s so hard to tell who’s the face and which ones are heels here. Everyone’s getting cheered no matter what. But that’s okay. It doesn’t always have to be black and white. It just needs to be fun.
Some rumors are going around that Sikoa might finally run the play and rejoin The Bloodline. After all this time that would be crazy if it were to happen. But I don’t think it will, unless The Bloodline has brought in a brand-new member. My bet is still on the non-Bloodlines of Sikoa, Keys, and Knight.
Next, we see a general promo video about the Hell in a Cell. It is more than steel and chain. Every dent in its frame, every scar on its wall is a reminder someone gave everything inside of it. Championships have been defended inside its walls, but that’s not its purpose. It is the final destination for those with nowhere left to run. Where grudges end, revenge is executed, and redemption may be found. For when its door closes there are no excuses, no distractions, no escape. The outside world disappears and a single truth remains. No matter the reputation, your pedigree, your accomplishments, you cannot overcome it. You can only survive it. It doesn’t create courage, it demands it. It doesn’t reward greatness, it reveals it. When the lights fade, the crowd goes home and the pain begins to settle in, it remains, waiting. And now, a new rivalry comes to test its walls. One beast, one ruler. A rivalry that can no longer be settled by ordinary means. Brock Lesnar, Oba Femi. This is their final battlefield. This is the devil’s playground. This is Hell in a Cell.

ANALYSIS: Now this is how you hype up a most dangerous type of match that you’ve waited almost two years for. It was really cool how it sounded like the cell was talking about itself in the first person. Like the vicious cell was a living thing. That’s how you sell it.
It’s been far too long since we’ve had a good HiaC match. Two guys who want to absolutely destroy each other. I know the folks at WWE don’t like to show blood and such. But with this type of match, unless they do something stupid like have it be a squash match or they go easy on each other, I don’t think it can be edited out.
It’s time for our main event match of the evening. The Women’s IC Champion Sol Ruca comes out to the ring for her title defense when we return.
Now back, and Raquel Rodriguez is already in the ring for her rematch for the IC title.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Sol Ruca (c) vs Raquel Rodriguez:
Right off the bell Rodriguez tries to kick Ruca, but she flips and dodges it, kicking Rodriguez in the gut. Ruca jumps off the second rope, but Rodriguez grabs her for a Chokeslam. Ruca slips out and hits the ropes, flips out of a Hip Toss by Rodriguez, and hits an X-Factor on Rodriguez for a one-count. Ruca gets Rodriguez in a headlock, but Rodriguez gets up and throws Ruca for a Back Bodydrop. Ruca in the corner as Rodriguez squashes her and hits multiple back elbows. Rodriguez picks up Ruca and tries for a slam, but Ruca got out and tries to get a Sunset Flip on Rodriguez. Rodriguez missed landing an elbow to Ruca on thee mat. Ruca kicks and flips onto Rodriguez for a two. Ruca pushes Rodriguez to the ropes but Rodriguez hangs on, shoving Ruca back. Ruca dodges a right Clothesline by Rodriguez, but the left Clothesline hits its mark, bending Ruca in half. Lyra Valkyria is shown watching the match backstage. Rodriguez strangles Ruca on the middle rope. Ruca gets thrown to the ropes, but she puts on the brakes and lands to the mat as Rodriguez hops over her hitting the ropes. Ruca tries to Leapfrog, but Rodriguez catches her. Ruca with a Headscissors sending Rodriguez to the top rope and Ruca Superkicks her to the outside. Ruca goes up top and hits a Moonsault on the outside to Rodriguez. We gotta go to break now.
Back from break, Ruca sends Rodriguez back into the ring for a close call. We notice the ref has a bloodied towel as Rodriguez had a bloodied face for some reason during the break. Possibly a broken nose. Ruca climbs up top for a Cross Body but is caught. Inverted Vertical Suplex by Rodriguez and a cover for a close call. We can see the bloodied nose of Rodriguez now. Ruca crawls to the bottom rope as Rodriguez chokes her with her foot on the rope. Ruca now crawls to the corner. Rodriguez throws Ruca to the opposite corner and hits a Running Splash. Powerslam by Rodriguez and a two-count. Rodriguez is now frustrated and is punching Ruca. Rodriguez grabs Ruca but Ruca gets out with punches back. Ruca tried to bounce off the ropes but is Shouldertackled down by Rodriguez. Cover on the champ and a near fall.
It looked like Rodriguez was going for an Armbar, but she just shoved Ruca away instead. Rodriguez’s face is almost crimson now as she tastes her own blood. Rodriguez grounds and pounds on Ruca. Now Rodriguez goes for an Armbar on Ruca while the ref cleans up her face. Ruca makes her way up and punches out of the hold. Big boot by Rodriguez as she throws Ruca to the corner. Rodriguez charged but got hit with a knee by Ruca. It’s hard to see the action now as one of the TV cameras is behind the steel ring post. They switch to the other cameraman next to him who’s camera is lopsided. Whoops. But we get beck to the action as Ruca is against the ropes as Rodriguez charges. Ruca kicks Rodriguez. Ruca gets to the corner as Rodriguez charges again. This time, Ruca grabbed Rodriguez’s arms from behind and hits a Backbreaker. Now Ruca Is punching out Rodriguez. Ruca ducks a Clothesline and hits an Uppercut by Rodriguez. Rodriguez reverses being tossed to the ropes and Back Bodydrops Ruca, but she landed on her feet, unknown to Rodriguez. Ruca with a takedown of Rodriguez’s left leg, a back elbow, and a Basement Dropkick on Rodriguez. Sliced Bread Neckbreaker bending Rodriguez in half, then a Running Knee to the broken nose of Rodriguez for a near fall. Ruca tried to lift Rodriguez onto her shoulders but couldn’t. Rodriguez wildly misses two Clotheslines as Ruca bounces off the second rope for a Cross Body. Rodriguez caught her and tried a move, but Ruca slipped out onto the ring apron and hung the back of Rodriguez’s neck off the top rope. Ruca goes up top and hits a strange looking DDT and covers for a close call. Ruca might not have done that move just right.
Suddenly, backup comes in the form of Rozanne Perez, who runs to the ring but gets kicked off of the ring apron by Ruca. As Perez is in the ring distracting the ref, Rodriguez tried to get a waist lock, but Ruca Back Elbows her. Ruca tried to bounce off the ropes, but Liv Morgan appears out of nowhere and holds onto her foot. Rodriguez with a big boot and bends Ruca in half for a pin and a very close call.
But wait, Ruca gets backup as IYO SKY comes running down the ramp. Morgan cuts her of soon as she got to ringside and leaps off of the steep steps onto SKY. Morgan punches SKY down and sends her into the fan barricade. Morgan then tried to drive her into the ring post, but SKY reversed it as Morgan eats the steel post. Rodriguez reaches over the top rope and grabs SKY, but Ruca grabbed Rodriguez and hit a Codebreaker. Morgan and SKY are still battling on the ring apron as the ref has lost control. SKY with a Bullet Train Knee Attack smashing Morgan’s head against the steel ring post. Both Morgan and SKY are down on the outside as it looked like SKY hit her other knee on the steel hard. Ouch. The distracted ref is looking through the second rope making sure Morgan and SKY are okay when Ruca went up top for a Sol Snatcher, but Perez grabbed her arm and smashed her against the top of the steel ring post. Rodriguez with the Tejana Bomb and got the win.
WINNER and NEW Women’s Intercontinental Champion: Raquel Rodriguez (11 minutes)
ANALYSIS: *** ½
Other than a minor unmemorable mistake or two, a couple of nasty more memorable botches (get well soon, Rodriguez), and the predictable interference by all the Judgment Day gals (as this was a rematch so it was expected), this was actually a surprisingly great matchup. Rodriguez looked strong and Ruca did everything in her arsenl to keep on coming back. I chose not to take any ratings away from it because of all that, despite Rodriguez winning due to cheap interference at the end. Alas, congrats on Rodriguez’s first-ever main roster singles Championship.
The only thing I didn’t like is that Ruca never got into any good storylines as the IC Champ. Maybe now she can have a good feud with The Judgment Day gals and try to get her IC title back.
After the match, The Judgment Day celebrated up the ramp as pyros went off for Rodriguez. Rodriguez yells something in Spanish into the camera.

We now go to last Friday’s SmackDown for highlights of the Undisputed WWE Champ CM Punk face-to-face with Cody Rhodes. Rhodes said people have heard he respects Punk, he even loves him. But Rhodes doesn’t like him. For this story to have a proper ending, he has to beat him at SummerSlam. Punk says Rhodes doesn’t like him, or he just doesn’t like he’s the champion. They’ve been chasing each other. But that ends at SummerSlam. Punk said he loves him, respects him, but doesn’t like him? Rhodes is lying to himself. He said Rhodes thinks the only way this plays out is if he beats him. Punk said at SummerSlam, he’s going to break Rhodes’s heart. Nobody can touch him, not even Dusty’s kid (sick burn).
ANALYSIS: Can’t wait for Friday’s go-home show the day before SummerSlam. What will these two do? Tune in!

And finally, we’re treated to the last of the promo video packages hyping the Reigns vs Rollins match at SummerSlam. This one is Chapter VIII: The Grandest Stage. The 2025 WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, NV. Reigns said there were two of his least favorite people against him in the same match. What could go wrong (foreshadowing much?) Paul Heyman first slid a chair to Punk, then turned on him with a low blow assuming Heyman had returned to his OTC. Rollins said he’s always one step ahead. Reigns was about to hit Rollins in the back with the chair, but then Heyman smacked Reigns with a low blow. Heyman handed the chair to Rollins, Reigns got a chair shot to the back by Rollins (again) and a stomp. Reigns said that when you try to copy me, you always fail. Then they showed Rollins’ group of The Vision turning on him, beating him down.
ANALYSIS: Rollins’s original The Vision group of Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed had to be abruptly ended after about six months because of Rollins’ real life torn rotator cuff injury (not the fake knee one) he got at Crown Jewel: Perth. The very next Monday Night RAW on October 11th, 2025, he was written off TV as his members of The Vision attacked him. Just a little context for y’all.
These mini vignettes were all very good and well put together. They super hyped the main event match between Reigns, the current World Heavyweight Champ, and Rollins, the former champ who never lost the title due to his injury. It gives you more of a WrestleMania main event feel to it all instead of just SummerSlam. But it’s still great.
It’s now time for our main event promo of the evening. Back live in the arena, the fans are chanting for their “OTC~!” when suddenly “Head Of The Table” hits as everyone throws their ones into the air. Out comes Reigns in his black Bloodline tee, just like his whole Bloodline of the Usos and Fatu were wearing tonight. Taylor announced The World Heavyweight Champion, the OTC, Roman Reigns. The face-off is next.
Back from breakity-break, Reigns is in the ring with his WHC around his waist and a mic in his hands. The fans continue to chant “Roman Reigns~!” Then, a loud “OTC~!” chant breaks out as Reigns soaks it in. Just as he calls for Los Angeles, but before he can ask for an acknowledgement, suddenly “Burn It Down” and out coms Rollins interrupting Reigns. The crowd is singing Rollins. song now. Rollins asked for Los Angeles to acknowledge him. Reigns said that’s how you ruin a great thing. He tried to explain to them, but L.A. knows the deal. You’re an asshole (that might get muted later). Rollins said he’s guilty. He’s the bad guy. When it comes to them, he’s the bad guy. He said that’s fine with him because that’s how he gets his. Some of us get everything handed to them on a silver platter. Some start on third base, but not him. People like him gotta grind, gotta hustle, gotta survive to get ours. Rollins said he’s not taking anything away from Reigns. Reigns is everything he says he is, everything this company wanted him to be. He is the biggest star in this industry, a money-making machine, a main event walking. He is Roman Reigns, The Tribal Chief, The Head of the Table. Rollins said Reigns has got an edge on him in so many departments, my brother. But there is one thing he will never be better than him at. And that’s professional wrestling.
When it comes to what goes on in the ring, he said it before, Rollins owns Reigns’ ass. And when it comes to what goes on inside that think skull of his, he owns his ass, too. L.A. knows it, everybody knows it, Reigns knows it, and there’s nothing Reigns can point to to tell him he’s a liar. Reigns can call him an asshole, but he can’t call him a liar. We’ve seen the packages, the history, Reigns vs Rollins. Every single time Rollins owns him. And he things SummerSlam is going to be different? Why is walking out of SummerSlam for him different? Has Reigns changed even a little bit? Is he going to get himself DQ’ed like when he owned his ass at the Royal Rumble in 2022? Or maybe he calls in The Bloodline to do his dirty work for him since he can’t get anything done on his own. Rollins said Roman says he needed to beat him. He can need it all he wants, but he doesn’t stand a chance.
Roman said Rollins just doesn’t get it, just doesn’t understand. He’s the only real Superstar. He’s the only true champion around here. And when he said it, he meant it. He needs to beat Rollins. He needs his family to see him beat Rollins. He said you don’t. Everybody needs him to beat Rollins. It’s not just the company, but the whole industry needs him to beat Rollins.
Rollins said it’s funny the things we need. He said Reigns needs this redemption so bad. When Rollins suckered him into this match a month ago, he said something that stuck. Reigns said he needed his family to be there to see it. It took Rollins back down memory lane to WrestleMania 31 when he cashed in on his ass and sent his whole family home in tears (the Heist of the Century). Rollins said he hopes Reigns’ family is there on Sunday. Because he would love nothing more than to watch them cry again. When they figure out their daddy is a fraud, a loser. And their daddy will forever and always be Rollins’ bitch.
And that sets Reigns off as the talking is over. Reigns punches Rollins and pounds him down to the mat. He then takes off his title. Then goes back to kicking him into the mat and ground and pounds Rollins. Superman Punch to Rollins. Then a Spear. The crowd is chanting “OTC~!” Reigns steps out of the ring and grabs a steel chair as he stares at it for a bit. Cole said this was where Reigns’ obsession began 12 years ago. Reigns slides into the ring with the chair. And Rollins hits a Stomp on Reigns onto the chair. Cole said that Reigns’ obsession with the chair attack by Rollins cost Reigns tonight. Rollins stood over Reigns to roll the credits and end the show.

ANALYSIS: That was a good way to end the go-home show before SummerSlam. Rollins made some great points that he was the grinding hard professional wrestler, and he’s taken everything from Rollins in the past, always being one step ahead of him. Reigns said he’s the megastar in the company. He’s beaten nearly everyone, except Rollins. That’s why he has this obsession with not wanting, but everyone needing him to beat Rollins. That stall with Reigns looking at the chair should’ve been a dead giveaway that Rollins would, once again, get one over on him.
Rollins made this whole match personal when he mentioned Reigns family. Which, by the way, was a true story at WrestleMania 31, aka The Heist of the Century. Reigns’ entire family was present at WM 31 where it was expected he would win his first Championship title against Lesnar. Rumor has it that WWE management changed it to the cash-in finish at the last minute to steal the title from Reigns for a shock-factor to end the show, which made some of his family cry. Hence the reference. His family might be there this time. We’ll see.
There’s an old saying in wrestling: “strong on TV, lose on PPV”, or PLE is this case. Two weeks in a row Rollins has been booked strongly to end the show. That must mean he’s losing to Reigns at SummerSlam. And that’s what I’m going with as well. As much as I’d like to have Rollins take his title back, I think Reigns will continue his title reign. Let’s just hope he’ll still keep being a full-time worker.
And that’s the SLAM, homies! Friday Night SmackDown will be on July 31st at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI, and will serve as the official go-home show the night before SummerSlam. So far, here’s what’s on tap:

Next week’s Monday Night RAW on August 3rd will be at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines, IA. This will be the first official fallout show after SummerSlam, so we’ll see what the roasted leftovers are.
