As of July 7th, 2026, Fightful.com will be keeping a running injury report and inactive list for superstars from all the pro wrestling and indy organizations while updating it accordingly. This includes those currently injured, inactive superstars, female superstars on maternity leaves, and expected returns.
Let’s go through their current list as of July 9th, 2026, and see what further details we can shed some SLAM on…
“Bronson Reed: Reed suffered a Distal Bicep Tear on the 2/23/26 episode of WWE Raw. He was sent to Birmingham, Alabama, per PWInsider. Reed is set to have surgery for his Bicep injury if he hasn’t already. There is no estimated return date.”
On February 27th, 2026, Reed had successful surgery for his distal bicep tear. The standard rehabilitation timeline is about 4-6 months for such a tear. That puts his return around July-August 2026. To fuel such a return, in May on his social media accounts he showed off a slimmer version of himself during a workout saying, “The return is going to be personal.”
“Logan Paul: On the May 25th, 2026 episode of WWE Raw, Michael Cole announced that Logan Paul would be sidelined “for months” with a torn tricep. On May 27th, Logan posted on his X account that Doctors told him that he would be out for six months. He said he believes he’ll be back sooner. He has appeared on Raw since the injury.”
Logan Paul has been appearing in a non-wrestling capacity with his torn triceps arm brace since the June 15th, 2026 episode of RAW, exactly three weeks after undergoing surgery. Even though he should be out for about six months, he jokingly plugged his product when he said, “I’ll be back in a couple weeks with some PRIME shake (32g protein).”
“Naomi: Maternity Leave”
Naomi officially announced her maternity leave on Monday, August 18th, 2025, during an episode of RAW alongside her husband Jimmy Uso.
“Nikki Bella: Nikki is dealing with an injured ankle. It has not been determined if she will be cleared for WrestleMania. She has still been appearing on TV.”
Nikki severely fractured, tore, and sprained her ankle during the March 27th, 2026, broadcast of SmackDown during a tag team match alongside Brie Bella. At WrestleMania 42, she ended up recruiting Paige to take her place with Brie, and Nikki has not been seen on television since. Nikki did reveal during her “The Nikki & Brie Show” on June 9th that she canceled a scheduled summer trip to Italy specifically to stay home and focus intensely on her daily rehab. She has since fully resumed in-ring training drills, and backstage rumors indicate she may make her official in-ring return soon to build up to SummerSlam.
“Stephanie Vaquer: On the 4/27/26 edition of WWE Raw, Michael Cole announced that Vaquer suffered a second-degree AC sprain in her shoulder and could be out for an extended period.”
Vaquer suffered the shoulder sprain during her WrestleMania 42 match against Liv Morgan. She was officially written off television during the April 27th, 2026, episode of RAW in a backstage angle where The Judgment Day attacked her. Although she is not expected to be able to wrestle by SummerSlam, the backstage rumors are that she may make an appearance.
“Bianca Belair: Maternity Leave”
Belair officially announced her pregnancy during Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 on April 18, 2026. She and her husband, WWE Superstar Montez Ford, later shared that they are expecting a baby boy. Belair had already been sidelined from the ring due to a severe finger injury, and she has confirmed she will remain away from WWE programming for the foreseeable future to focus on her pregnancy. The closest backstage rumor estimates she likely won’t return to the ring until sometime in 2027.
“Elton Prince: Prince has been out of action with a neck fusion surgery. He last wrestled on the June 20th episode of SmackDown. He underwent surgery in January 2026. There is no estimated return date.”
Prince actually suffered a potential career-ending injury during his last televised match on May 2nd, 2025, where the team of Fraxiom executed a synchronized double-team reverse DDT on him that was accidentally botched when his thoracic spine arched heavily upon landing. On the June 20th, 2025 episode of SmackDown, it was announced that Prince was sidelined with an injury. Prince finally had a two-level neck fusion surgery on January 8th, 2026, which takes anywhere from nine to twelve months minimum before full physical contact can even be considered, if at all.
“Kevin Owens: Kevin announced on the April 4th SmackDown that he will be undergoing neck surgery and will be out of action for an extended period. Fightful Select reported on July 19th that Owens underwent successful surgery on July 18th. There is no estimated return date.”
Owens originally announced an in-ring hiatus on April 4th, 2025, but he officially confirmed his single-level fusion neck surgery was scheduled for July 18th during the “What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes” podcast on June 26th, 2025. Single-level neck fusion typically carries a grueling 12-18 month recovery timeline for professional wrestlers, so his estimated recovery timeline should be approximately October of 2026. On July 7th, 2026, Owens posted a photo of “The Boogeyman” with his signature giant clock, teasing a potential return.
“Piper Niven: Fightful Select reports that Piper is out of action with a neck injury. Fightful Select was informed that, although the injury is serious, those we spoke to believe she will recover and return. There is no estimated return date.”
Niven has been out of action since her last televised match on the August 22nd, 2025, episode of SmackDown where a pre-existing neck issue was aggravated after she took a bad bump during the match. After confirming cervical stenosis and consulting with doctors, Niven officially underwent neck fusion surgery on May 13th, 2026. On June 25th, she showed a picture of an x-ray of her neck, stating “6 week post surgery check up today. Everything fusing nicely.” Niven released a June 2026 livestream about her status, and in response to a concerned fan on social media, she replied, “Don’t count me out just yet chick, just letting people know that it will be a long time and maybe possibly not at all so we don’t have to answer the same question 50 times a stream.”
“Randy Orton: He is off TV because he is reportedly dealing with a “back injury.” He made a statement in a social media post, “Lmao just milking it guys, leave me alone, I’m trying to enjoy my summer before I come back and take that #15”
Orton has been absent since his main event match at Night 1 of WrestleMania 42 on April 18th, 2026. He made the “milkng it” social media post on May 17th. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Orton is sidelined due to significant, long-standing back issues stemming from his previous 2022 spinal fusion surgery. However, internal rumors indicate that Orton is tentatively on track to return in time for SummerSlam on August 1st and 2nd. Once he returns, he is expected to pick up where he left off feuding with Cody Rhodes.
“Rhea Ripley: On the 6/12 edition of WWE SmackDown, Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore announced that Rhea Ripley is currently being evaluated for a knee injury she suffered in Italy. The last date Rhea wrestled was Wednesday, June 3rd. There is no word on how long she will be out or an estimated return date.”
Ripley’s knee injury happened during her championship match at “Clash in Italy” on May 31st, 2026. She last wrestled a live event during the European Summer Tour. Despite the injury, she still remains the reigning WWE Women’s Champion. However, since her status for SummerSlam 2026 is still uncertain, plans had to be scrapped and rewritten. They are hopeful she can still be cleared in time for SummerSlam, but if not, there are rumors she may have to vacate the title.
WWE Unassigned:
“Omos: Inactive on WWE main roster, working AAA.”
Omos remains under a long-term contract with WWE, currently assigned to work primarily in Lucha Libre AAA following WWE’s acquisition of the Mexican promotion and is a prominent member of the “El Ojo” stable. He has been on AAA television since its premiere on January 17th, 2026, on Fox One in Latin America markets.
“Adriana Rizzo: Adriana announced in a social media post on 6/25/26 that she is cleared for action. She has been out of action since April 2025.”
Although Rizzo appeared briefly at WWE Evolve on July 8th, 2026, as an interviewer, she is officially cleared for action back on the WWE NXT brand.
“Chantel Monroe: On Monday, March 16th, Monroe posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed with her foot and ankle wrapped. She captioned the photo, “Can’t keep a diva down for long… be back soon.” There is no estimated return date.”
Details about Monroe’s exact ankle injury and her estimated return date are being kept under wraps and unknown.
“Elio LeFleur: LeFleur is dealing with a shoulder injury and shared that there are tears in his shoulder, and he’ll be out of action for six months. He relinquished the Men’s Speed Title on the 3/31/26 edition of NXT.”
LeFleur suffered a torn labrum and substantial ligament damage during a turnbuckle spot in an eight-man tag match at an NXT live event in Lakeland, FL, on March 20th, 2026. He underwent successful surgery shortly after the injury. As of his latest social media updates, he is progressing well through a grueling rehabilitation schedule. There is no official return date set yet, but if his recovery stays on its current six-month trajectory, he is expected back in the ring around October 2026.
“El Hijo del Vikingo: On the 6/30/26 episode of NXT, while prepping for his match against Prosper, he suffered a knee injury. He announced on 7/6/26 that he would undergo surgery. There is no estimated return date.”
On July 7th, Vikingo posted on his Instagram account from his hospital bed confirming that the knee surgery was a complete success. On “Wrestling Observer Radio”, Dave Meltzer reported that Vikingo is facing an estimated six to eight months of recovery time, which puts his return at early 2027.
“Adam Cole: Adam Cole is sidelined from action for the foreseeable future with a concussion-related health issue.”
On July 12th, 2025, at All In: Texas, Cole stated he wasn’t medically cleared to compete and vacated the TNT Championship. It was believed that he sustained a concussion during a match against Kyle Fletcher just days before the pay-per-view and that is what triggered severe post-concussion syndrome. On June 4th, 2026, The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, gave an update during a recent livestream on the Being The Elite YouTube channel that Cole is taking everything “step by step… day by day.” It is still unknown when, or if, Cole will return to the ring.
“Buddy Matthews: Buddy said on the Chris Van Vliet podcast (4/29/25) that he partially tore the ligaments, but they were not completely ruptured. On 8/7/25, Buddy announced that he would be having surgery on August 7th. There is no estimated return date.”
The incident originally occurred on February 2025 during his entrance at “AEW Grand Slam: Australia”. He has his surgery on August 7th, but throughout the rest of 2025 and into 2026, Matthews noted that he was dealing with persistent numbness and severe nerve issues in his foot that significantly delayed his expected return timeline. However, Matthews made a surprise, non-wrestling appearance at a World Series Wrestling indie event in Australia. He took a mic and stated while he was still not medically cleared to compete, his official target date to return to full in-ring action is October 2026.
“Colt Cabana: Inactive”
Cabana remains employed by AEW as he has transitioned into a full-time backstage roll. He works as an AEW producer and coach. His last on-screen appearance was on the July 19th, 2025, episode of AEW Collision.
“Deonna Purrazzo: On Tuesday, Purrazzo posted a photo of herself on crutches and in a walking boot. She captioned the photo, “Thanks for all the love & positivity.” There is no estimated return date.”
The Ring of Honor (ROH) Women’s Pure Champion was injured on June 22nd, 2026, when Purrazzo took a harsh suplex on the floor outside the ring. She posted the mentioned photo of herself on crutches and a boot on her “X” account June 23rd. Just a week after her match, she posted a recovery update in the gym with no crutches or walking boot. Because she is still the reigning ROH Women’s Pure Champion and has shown a rapid transition into rehab, it appears she avoided a worse-case scenario, even though there is still no official return date.
“Dr. Britt Baker: Baker is inactive. She last wrestled on the 11/24/24 episode of Dynamite. There is no estimated return date. Fightful reported that she’s physically healthy.”
Baker is healthy and under a long-term contract she signed in 2021. However, while Tony Khan publicly maintains she is a highly valued member of the roster, wrestling outlets like PWTorch and Bleacher Report note that Baker has developed a bad locker room reputation. A highly publicized backstage altercation with MJF reportedly served as the “final straw” and creative discussions regarding her return have become non-existent. Because she has missed large amounts of time due to past injuries and extended leaves, AEW is able to freeze and extend her contract into 2027, preventing her from leaving for another promotion. This has left her contract in limbo, sitting out its remainder at home. Breaking her silence on March 15th, 2026, Baker tweeted on her “X” account, “Not up to me”.
“Dustin Rhodes: Dustin announced August 5th that the damage to his knees is so significant that he needs two knee replacement surgeries and will have the surgery on August 21st. There is no estimated return date.”
The 56-year-old wrestling veteran had been performing on severely deteriorated, “bone-on-bone” knees for years. He wrestled his last match on July 19th, 2025, underwent successful bilateral total knee replacement surgery on August 21st, and has been intensely rehabbing for the past 11 months. While recovering, he has remained active behind the scenes coaching younger talent. However, Rhodes has stated he expects to be medically cleared by AEW doctors for a retirement wrestling tour in the company, starting by the end of 2026, and culminating in a legendary “40-year milestone” in the wrestling industry.
“Emi Sakura: Inactive in AEW, but is wrestling in Japan”
Sakura remains under contract with AEW but is currently on a prolonged hiatus from AEW television. She has spent much of the past year wrestling across Japan (as the founder of ChocoPro and Gatoh Move while headlining various events), the United Kingdom (Pro Wrestling EVE), and the North American independent circuit including Canada (Smash Wrestling).
“Hologram: Sustained a knee injury likely to sideline him until 2026. Underwent surgery in November 2025.”
Hologram’s injury occurred on September 24th, 2025, during an AEW Dynamite taping in Pittsburgh, PA, in a Trios match. AEW booked a storyline segment on the September 27th episode of Collision to cover the injury to his knee, while debuting an evil clone of Hologram (played by Ares) in January 2026. Meanwhile, Hologram underwent successful surgery for his knee damage Halloween night on October 31st, 2025, publishing his post-surgery update that evening. Breaking his silence on March 20th, 2026, Hologram posted a photo on social media standing on crutches, his left leg heavily wrapped, and a message stating: “Injury detected. Source: clone. Surgical process complete Recovery protocol active. Countdown initiated. I’m coming back to finish this.”. He is still expected to return by the end of 2026.
“Isiah Kassidy: It was confirmed to Fightful that both Kassidy and Quen ended up sustaining the same injuries in a tag match against the Death Riders on March 28. There is no estimated return date.”
“Josh Alexander: Josh Alexander underwent successful surgery for a knee injury. Alexander stated in a social media post that he would need surgery. The extent of the injury is unknown. Alexander seemingly injured himself as he got his knees up to block Bailey’s moonsault knee attack. There is no estimated return date.”
“Keith Lee: Fightful Select reported on 6/8/26 that AEW sources told us that Keith Lee was discussed for a return to AEW programming several months ago, but it hasn’t come to fruition so far. There is still no return date at this time.”
“Kota Ibushi: Kota fractured his femur at the taping of the 10/08/25 episode of AEW Collision Homecoming. Kota said in a social media post on October 14 that he could be out for two years; however, he added that he did not expect to be out for the full two years.”
“Leila Grey: Leila Grey revealed on social media that she tore her ACL during the match she had against Mercedes Moné on the December 6th episode of AEW Collision. There is no estimated return date.”
“Luchasaurus: Sidelined in December 2025 with a shoulder injury. Luchasaurus told Chris Jericho on the Talk is Jericho Podcast that he hopes to return to the ring by the end of the year.”
“Marq Quen: It was confirmed to Fightful that both Kassidy and Quen ended up sustaining the same injuries in a tag match against the Death Riders on March 28. There is no estimated return date.”
“Max Caster: Inactive. Max has been wrestling in independents.”
“Nyla Rose: Inactive, however, wrestled at GCW Effy’s Big Gay Brunch 11 during WrestleMania 42 weekend.”
“Paul Wight: Inactive, with no estimated return date. He is doing publicity work for the company.”
“Penelope Ford: Ford sustained a lower-body injury during her match on the 2/25/26 edition of AEW Dynamite. Ford performed a moonsault to the outside, landing between Willow and Harley. She was seen by medical during the match and was ruled out. On 3/7/26, Tony Khan provided an injury update regarding Ford via his Twitter livestream “Penelope Ford, it looks like, unfortunately, will be out with an injury. Maybe for weeks, but possibly even up to months.” There is no estimated return date.”
“Ruby Soho: Maternity Leave. Announced pregnancy after AEW Dynamite ended on 4/17/24.”
“Samoa Joe: Samoa Joe announced he would be away from AEW for a few months because “Hollywood came calling.” There is no estimated return date.”
“Toni Storm: Storm was written off of AEW TV on the Wednesday, March 18 episode of AEW Dynamite. She was laid out in a deliberately non-contact angle. Fightful Select reported that AEW is prepared for her not to be cleared to wrestle through at least 2026. There is no estimated return date.”
“Wardlow: Fightful Select has confirmed that Wardlow has a torn pectoral muscle. It is believed to have happened during his return at AEW Forbidden Door. Wardlow said in an interview on 4/17/26 that he is close to returning.”
“Willow Nightingale: On the May 20th, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite. Nightingale revealed that she suffered a shoulder injury in her recent bout with Red Velvet from the May 16th, 2026 episode of AEW Collision. Per Fightful Select, Willow is expected back sometime in July (2026).”
“Ash By Elegance: Ash announced on social media that she would have surgery on May 1st, 2026. The reason for the surgery was not disclosed. There is no estimated return date.”
On May 1st, 2026, Ash shared on “X” a photo from her hospital bed confirming surgery for an illness. On her social media updates and reports from late April and early May 2026, the exact details of her “medical emergency” illness were finally clarified. It was not an in-ring injury, but a tumor and a cyst that were actively putting extensive pressure on her surrounding nerves. Ash provided an optimistic update on June 19th, 2026, stating that her healing is moving in the right direction. In the meantime, TNA has kept her involved behind the scenes while contributing to the company in a non-wrestling, backstage capacity to keep her on television.
“Chris Bey: Chris Bey was taken to a hospital with a neck injury and underwent surgery on 10/27/24. Chris Bey revealed that he suffered from paralysis, which he is actively recovering from.”
Bey suffered a devastating neck injury on October 27th, 2024, during a TNA match against The Hardys and underwent emergency surgery the same night. The injury caused immediate paralysis from the neck down, and doctors originally told him there was only a 25% chance he would ever regain the use of his legs. But he began to beat the odds through grueling physical therapy. In April 2025, on an episode of Impact!, Bey walked out on his own to address the fans. On his 30th birthday (February 13th, 2026) he shared a video on his social media doing jumps and exercises at the gym. While he can jump and lift weights, he noted that he still faces some daily struggles and has a long way to go.
“KiLynn King: It was announced in December 2023 that KiLynn had a torn ACL. In a social media post on 8/21/25, KiLynn provided an update stating that in August 2024, she had an L4-L5 herniated disc. In the video that she posted, she is seen touching her toes and said, “Today for the 1st time in a year and a half, I touched my toes. Mommas getting better.””
King initially suffered from a torn ACL during an independent wrestling match and underwent corrective knee surgery in February 2024. While in the middle of rehabbing her knee in August 2024, she suffered a major setback when she blew out her back with an L4-L5 herniated disc. While doing rehab, in August 2025, she posted a video on her social media accounts of her touching her toes. While she still remains under contract with TNA Wrestling, there is no return date locked in yet. However, because she is already back to functional in-ring training, her official televised return is rumored to take place soon.
“Tomohiro Ishii: New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced that Ishii suffered a neck injury and will miss the New Japan Cup tour. There is no estimated return date.”
While a single devastating botch did not cause the injury, it is widely recognized by medical staff and wrestling journalists that it is more likely the result of cumulative chronic wear and tear as Ishii has famously wrestled a highly physical, strong style format for nearly 30 years, building a career on absorbing stiff shots. The physical damage officially caught up to him at the “NJPW New Beginning USA” event on February 27th, 2026. Ishii’s neck issues flared up so severely that NJPW medical officials immediately pulled him from active status, including the March 2026 New Japan Cup Tournament. As of July 2026, neither NJPW nor AEW have provided an official estimated return date for the 50-year-old veteran. Given the serious nature of neck injuries and Ishii’s intense physical, hard-hitting wrestling style, officials are handling his rehabilitation with extreme caution.

“Adam Scheer (aka Braun Strowman): On 1/28/26, Scheer announced on social media that he had an infection in his knee. He is currently not signed to any promotion, and there is no estimated return date.”
“Atlantis Jr.: It was announced on CMLL Informa on May 27th, 2026, that Atlantis Jr is sidelined with a knee injury and will be unable to compete in his scheduled match against Villano III Jr. on Sunday, May 31st. There is no estimated return date.”
“Atsushi Onita: Onita was in action at an independent show in Japan on January 18th. He participated in a six-man tag Scramble Bunkhouse Deathmatch. It was determined that Onita suffered a cervical spine injury after the match and will be out of action for two weeks.”
“Bozilla: Bozilla announced on 1/26/26 in a social media post that she has suffered a completely torn ACL and will require surgery. There is no estimated return date.”
“BRG: On February 17th, BRG announced via social media that he suffered a torn rotator cuff that will require surgery and rehabilitation. There is no estimated return date.”
“Daiki Inaba: On September 23rd, 2025, at NOAH’s NOAH N-1 Victory Tournament at Korakuen Hall. Inaba suffered a leg injury, which resulted in being transported to a hospital. Inaba was injured when he went for a diving press. Inaba was seen grabbing his right thigh. He was unable to stand after the match and was stretchered off.”
“Koshiro Asakura: Koshiro suffered a Torn ACL & Meniscus injury at the BJW event at Korakuen Hall on 7/27. On September 20, 2025, Asakura posted on X that the surgery “went well.” He is expected to miss a year.”
“LJ Cleary: In a social media post on 10/10/25, LJ announced that he would be out of action for the rest of 2025 due to an undisclosed injury.”
“Mayu Iwatani: Marigold announced on 4/11/26 that Mayu will be out of action for the foreseeable future due to multiple toe fractures. There is no estimated return date.”
“Megumi Yabushita: Yabushita dislocated her shoulder at the Strong Style Pro-Wrestling show, which took place at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on March 19th. There is no estimated return date.”
“Octagon Jr: At the AAA Noche de los Grandes tapings on May 30, Octagon Jr suffered a neck injury. Competing in a five-way match, Octagon took a DDT off the top rope from Joaquin Wilde. The referee seemed to immediately recognize the injury. Octagon did post on social media that he will “come back, stronger than ever.””
“Ryo Inoue: Ryo has been pulled from upcoming All Japan Pro Wrestling events through at least 6/11/26. AJPW announced on 6/3 that Ryo suffered a torn ACL. There is no estimated return date, but he would have a thorough examination.”
“Sanshiro Takagi: On 4/7/26, Takagi posted on X that he had multiple facial injuries. He had three fractures, including the Medial wall (eye socket), Orbital floor, and Nasal bone. There is no estimated return date.”
“Santos Escobar: Escobar tore his tricep during Royal Rumble weekend in a match against Hijo de Dr. Wagner. Escobar had surgery on Thursday, March 19th, 2026. On April 15th, Santos announced that he will have surgery on his ulnar nerve. Escobar was released by the WWE on April 24th, 2026. (*Moved to this section because of WWE departure.)”
“Seri Yamaoka: Seri Yamaoka suffered a dislocated left shoulder in her match against Maddy Morgan on May 28th at the Shinjuku FACE event. There is no estimated return date.”
“Shun Skywalker: Skywalker reaggravated an already-existing ankle injury on 4/26. Dragongate shared that information in a social media post about Skywalker’s health status. Skywalker will be sidelined. There is no estimated return date.”
“Victoria Yuzuki: Yuzuki was injured on 4/19/26 with an ACL injury and will be out of action for an extended period of time. There is no estimated return date.”
“WARHORSE: WARHORSE was injured during his match at Glory Pro Wrestling on December 21. In a social media post, WARHORSE revealed that he suffered a broken fibula. He noted that he is unsure how long he will be sidelined and whether surgery will be required. At this time, there is no estimated return date.”
“Xavier Woods: On the 2/25 edition of No-Contest Wrestling, Xavier Woods said, “My shoulder has apparently gone through the meat grinder. I have a couple of tears in there. We’re hoping that it’s just physical therapy and I’ll be alright.” There is currently no estimated return date. (*Moved to this section because of WWE departure.)”
“YO-HEY: YO-HEY suffered a medial meniscus injury in his left knee while competing in Pro Wrestling NOAH’s N-1 Victory event on September 23rd. There is no estimated return date.”
“Zoey Stark: On the 5/29/25 episode of Raw. Zoey suffered tears to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. There is no estimated return date, but she will be out for the rest of 2025. Stark was released by WWE on April 24th, 2026 (*Moved to this section because of WWE departure.)”
