Chelsea Green Injury Update: WWE Stays Optimistic, Won’t Disrupt Her Momentum
WWE remains optimistic about Chelsea Green’s injury status, according to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select. WWE does not plan to divert from the momentum currently surrounding Green.
Green suffered a broken orbital bone during the August 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, and the injury is expected to keep her out of action for several weeks.
A source told Fightful Select that WWE does not plan to pull Green from television or strip her of the championship. In fact, WWE had scheduled her to appear on the August 14 episode of SmackDown as of August 12.
WWE officials were reportedly impressed by the social media numbers Green’s SummerSlam title win generated, reinforcing the company’s decision to keep her prominently featured despite the injury.
