WWE Cancels Upcoming Sept 4th SmackDown Taping

WWE has cancelled the Sept 4th SmackDown taping from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, OH

The removal of this important September 4th SmackDown taping comes just over a month after the date was announced and a month after tickets went on sale. No official reason has been provided by WWE or the venue.

Ticketmaster didn’t make any official announcement, however their listing for the show was updated as cancelled as of June 19th. Ticketmaster is stating the event organizer has cancelled the event and tickets are being refunded to the original method of payment used at time of purchase:

The September 4th SmackDown taping was a part of 16 new dates that was announced by WWE Corporate on May 7th for the WWE Raw and SmackDown multi-city summer and fall tour schedule. Tickets went on sale Friday, May 15th at 10am local time, and Presale Access began Thursday, May 14th at 10am local. Cincinnati’s SmackDown taping was assumed to be big, as it was the “go-home” show for “Sunday Night’s Main Event” which takes place two days later at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA.

As of today, the September 4th SmackDown taping in Cincinnati, OH, is still showing up on WWE’s Events calendar, even though it has been officially cancelled. There’s no confirmation from any source as to why it was cancelled, or whether WWE will simply move the SmackDown taping to a different venue, a different date, or cancel Cincinnati from their tour entirely.

Stay along the BLVD as we will SLAM any updates as they are available.

UPDATE 06/20: The WWE’s Events calendar now shows the Cincinnati, OH, taping for SmackDown on 09/04 has been removed but has yet to give any official reason why and nothing further has been scheduled on that date.
