Former WWE Wrestler Arrested

Former WWE wrestler Curtis Axel, real name Joseph Curtis Hennig, was arrested in Anoka County, MN, on May 17th

Former WWE wrestler Curtis Axel, whose real name is Joseph Curtis Hennig and is the son of the late Hall of Famer “Mr Perfect” Curt Hennig, was arrested and charged with several counts in Anoka County, Minnesota, on May 17th after an incident at a St. Francis McDonald’s drive-thru. He is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving intoxicated through a McDonald’s drive-thru, backing his vehicle into another car, and being physically combative with police. Officers reportedly discovered an open bottle of vodka in his truck and noted he hurled profanities and slurs while refusing a breath test. Hennig posted bail and was released.

According to a police report, officers arrived at the McDonald’s just before 9 PM. This was after an accident where Hennig’s vehicle backed into another car in the drive-thru. When police arrived on the scene, Axel was seen driving slowly through the parking lot while smelling of alcohol, having blood-shot and watery eyes, and with slurred speech. An open bottle of alcohol was also found inside his truck.

The officers found out from an employee that Hennig had been mumbling while in the drive-thru before pulling forward, swearing at staff, and then backing into another vehicle. He then allegedly opened his door and yelled at the other female driver he backed into, yelling slurs at her.

The report from The Watch MN wrote:

“On May 17, 2026, at approximately 8:47 p.m., officers from the St. Francis Police Department were dispatched to a property damage crash at the McDonald’s located on Saint Francis Boulevard Northwest. According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived to find a truck driven by Joseph Curtis Hennig slowly navigating the parking lot. When an officer stopped the vehicle, they reportedly detected a strong odor of alcohol. Hennig allegedly exhibited bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech.

When instructed to step out of the vehicle, Hennig reportedly refused. Officers subsequently opened the door, reached inside to turn off the engine, and placed the keys on the passenger seat. After continued defiance, officers physically removed Hennig from the truck, escorted him to the ground, and handcuffed him. While seated in the squad car, an officer read him the Minnesota Breath Test Advisory. Hennig allegedly refused chemical testing and responded with profanities, including, “I don’t give a s***,” and “f*** you, you f*****.”

During the investigation, a McDonald’s employee reported that Hennig had been mumbling in the drive-thru before pulling forward, swearing at staff, and backing into another vehicle. He then allegedly opened his door and yelled at the female driver, calling her a “b****” and a “p****.” An inventory search of his vehicle prior to towing yielded a 750 mL open bottle of Phillips vodka on the front passenger-side floorboard.”

Hennig’s official charges are as follows:
