Cope & Christian Take The Titles

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage captured the AEW Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing, ending a 25-year drought by defeating FTR. The punishing match featured ladders, barbed wire, and a flaming table. With assistance from Beth Phoenix, Copeland and Cage overcame FTR’s resilience, eventually forcing Dax Harwood to submit after an intense, weapon-filled battle.

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage snapped a 25-year tag-title drought on Sunday, making Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler submit in their AEW Tag Team Championship match at Double or Nothing.

Copeland, Cage, and FTR went to war in a punishing bout that featured ladders, weapons, and even a flaming table (a small tribute to the infamous Edge/Foley battle). As the violence escalated, neither team showed any sign of backing down. Cage’s arm was repeatedly crushed, Wheeler nearly lost part of his nose, and barbed wire tore into all four competitors.

Stokely Hathaway attempted to get involved in the match but Beth Copeland (Beth Phoenix) appeared out of nowhere to level the playing field. Though she was quickly neutralized before she could make any real difference in the match.

Dax Harwood set up a table, doused and lit it on fire as Wheeler lined up to spear Beth Copeland through it. At the last possible moment, Hathaway was yanked into position in front of Wheeler and took the spear instead, crashing through the burning table.

Quickly, Copeland and Cage turned their attention to Harwood, applying multiple submission holds. Beth Copeland tossed Adam a spiked bat, who then used it to pile on more punishment.

Forcing Harwood to say “I Quit!”
