It’s Monday Night, the lights are bright, so it’s time to get RAW! Tonight we’re from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY. On the card tonight, Chad Gable makes his first Intercontinental Championship Title defense against the Hall Of Famer Rey Mysterio. In two exciting World Heavyweight Title No. 1 Contender’s Tournaments, Rey Fenix battles El Fiscal and Dragon Lee takes on El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. Sol Ruca is set for a bout against Lyra Valkyria. And after defeating Solo Sikoa last week, “Main Event” Jey Uso will now deliver Sikoa to World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.

It’s the August 17^th live report of Monday Night RAW!

We begin with showing what happened last week between Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa. With some shenanigans with Jimmy, Jey wins, which means Sikoa must be delivered back to the Bloodline and the OTC.

We get our superstar walk-ins to the building.

Live now in the arena, out comes Stephanie Vaquer. We’re shown her run-in last week with Becky Lynch.

She says she’s here only for her title. Wrestling is her first language, so she calls out Liv Morgan.

Morgan comes out, flanked by The Judgment Day. Morgan says she has a lot on her mind. She doesn’t care about the women that came here as a champion before her or after. She is a champ for herself. Vaquer thinks she’s scared of her? She spent the last three months watching her.

Vaquer tells her to get in the ring. Morgan tells she’s going to regret it. Judgment day ambushes her. Vaquer starts to get the advantage until she’s attacked from behind. Until Becky Lynch arrives.

Lynch goes right after Morgan and the rest of Judgment Day. She inadvertently bumps into Vaquer. Morgan pulls Lynch out and against the ring post. Vaquer gets teamed up, attacked by Rodriguez, and the Pop Rocks. They stand victorious.

Now backstage, The Usos bring out Solo Sikoa and head to the OTC. They bump into LA Knight who just stares at Sikoa.

JD McDonagh(w/ Dominik Mysterio) vs Je’Von Evans:

We’re back with an unusual impromptu matchup that was set up for the fans in attendance during the commercial.

Things start off with both men getting the better of the other and slapping each other. Evans sent JD McDonagh to the outside and tried for a dive but was intercepted by Dom. He sends McDonagh to the commentary table area, and them crashes McDonagh through the timekeeper’s area. Eventually, McDonagh finally gets the upper hand with help. McDonagh is in complete throughout the middle of the match putting on a clinic.

Evans finally gets back in control with the Red Dot. He went for the OG Cutter, but McDonagh moved and Evans got a headbutt and a pin for a close call. McDonagh went for a Moonsault but missed and the Young OG hits the OG Cutter for the win.

WINNER: Je’Von Evans

But here comes Big Cass once again! He nails Evans with the East River Crossing before heading to the back. Evans gets a mic and asks if that’s all he’s got. Cass tries to get back in but Evans attacks him and hits a Suicide Dive. Dom from out of nowhere attacks Evans. Cass keeps throwing Evans against the barricades, then gives him a big boot.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves are our commentators, “Amazing Hair” Alicia Taylor is the ring announcer, and Kathy Kelley does the interviews. Cole mention next Monday’s RAW in Ottawa will have a start time of 6pm ET.

We’re then shown highlights of the #1 Contender Tourney for Reigns’ title in Mexico City. According to the brackets, Penta and La Parka have advanced to the second round.

Now here comes the AAA Cruiserweight Champ Rey Fenix for the #1 Contenders first round tourney. That’s after the break.

Now back, here comes El Fiscal. Making his WWE debut.

WHC No. 1 Contender’s Tournament – Rey Fenix vs El Fiscal:

They surround each other and try several attacks but are too evenly matched, so they back off and start again. Fiscal starts to get the advantage and a close call pin attempt. Then Fenix gets control and gets a close call. Fenix gets the advantage again and hits a Good-Bye Amigo from the top, sending Fiscal to the outside. Then Fenix hits a Springboard Splash. Break.

Fiscal is in control when both men are back in the ring. Discus Lariat to Fenix and a close call. Fenix gets back control and nails the Mexican Muscle Buster for the win. 

WINNER: Rey Fenix

Now backstage we check in with Cathy Kelley who’s with Vaquer. Vaquer said Morgan always attacks with three people. Lynch comes up and reminds her next week she’s sure it’ll be no problem with no interference.

Now back live, Sol Ruca comes out for her match against Lyra Valkyria.

Sol Ruca vs Lyra Valkyria:

Valkyria is the dominant woman in this match as Ruca has trouble gaining control. She finally dropkicks Valkyria out of the ring, kicks her in the head, and Moonsaults her down. But this didn’t last long when Ruca went for the second rope, but Valkyria kicked her down hard and took back control just before the break.

We’re back as Ruca keeps trying to regain control but unable to withstand Valkyria’s viciousness. Valkyria got hit to the outside but intercepted a dive to the outside by Ruca. Valkyria went up top and hit a Scissors Kick but only for a close call. Valkyria goes for Night Wing but Ruca got out of it into a DDT. Up top for the Soul Snatcher and the win for Ruca.

WINNER: Sol Ruca

Now backstage, Jacob Fatu is with the Usos. Jey says they did something Fatu couldn’t do. Fatu isn’t happy.

Now it’s Danhausen break time. He says it’s his birthday-Hausen. He’s going to celebrate giving away his human monies. Then he badly sings happy birthday to Danhausen.

Now with Kelley backstage, she is interviewing The Vision. Logan Paul says last week was about how they run the place. Maxxine Dupri says they need to continue to squash Tozawa. Austin Theory says he ans his boy are the tag team champs. Breakker is asked if there’s anything he wants to say to Oba Femi. He said anything he’ll say to him he’ll say it to his face.

Bron Breakker comes out to the ring. He calls out Femi. But instead he gets Paul Heyman.

Heyman went over all the things he was. He then said the question on everyone’s mind is who the future of WWE is. Breakker asks Heyman who is the future.

Suddenly, here comes Oba Femi strutting to the ring. Loud “OBA~!” chants. Femi said that’s a stupid question. He knows it, the fans know it. And Brock Lesnar knows it. And he can take it up with him anytime. Breakker says to do it right now.

But Heyman stops him. He says they’re not doing the match now. He said it’s a box office main event. And he already talked to RAW GM Adam Pearce. Sunday Night Main Event. Breakker’s hometown. Breakker vs Femi. And then they’ll find out who’s the future of WWE.

Now here is the final 1^st round #1 WHC Contender’s matchup as Dragon Lee comes to the ring to fight El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr as we go to a ‘mercial.

Dragon Lee vs El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr:

It looks like a fairly evened matchup until Wagner finally uses his power against Lee. Wagner goes up for several kicks to Lee and a Death Valley Driver but only for a two. Every time Lee uses his speed to try to take control, Wagner uses his power to regain it. Might as well take a commercial.

We’re back just as Lee hits a German Suplex and goes to the outside. Somersault Dive by Lee. Both men in and they exchange slaps to the chest. Wagner got back control up top but lee intercepted and kicked him down for a near fall. Wagner tosses Lee and hits a Frog Splash from the top for another near fall.

The finish came when Wagner tried for the Wagner Driver but it’s countered by Lee. Lee hits the Operation Dragon and the win.

WINNER: Dragon Lee

We now know it will be Dragon Lee vs Rey Fenix in round 2.

Next, Booya 6-1-9! Here comes the HOF’er Rey Mysterio. After the break, The IC Champion Chad Gable is in the ring.

Intercontinental Championship: Chad Gable (c) vs Rey Mysterio:

Gable and Rey shake hands first before they circle each other. Fast-paced intro to the match, with leapfrogs over each other and lightning-fast quick pin attempts. Rey finally gets a Hurricanrana on Gable into the corner. Gable out powers Rey with a Suplex. Both men get on the ring apron, but Rey clocks Gable on top of the ring post. Rey goes to the IC title and lifts it up to cheers.

Rey sends Gable shoulder-first into the ring post. Gable gets into the ring. As Rey tried to get back in, Gable hits a Fisherman’s Suplex into the ring for a near fall.

A lot of fast action, including a top-rope Angle Slam, as the crowd chants “THIS IS AWESOME~!” The finish came when Rey hits a corner 6-1-9 and then a middle rope 6-1-9. But when he went for the Splash, Gable got his knees up and the Ankle Lock in. He refused to give it up until Rey tried to reverse it into a pin combo. Gable reversed that into a sitting pin for the win.

WINNER: Chad Gable

After the match, Gable extended out his hand to Rey. But Rey insisted on putting the title around the waist of Gable. He does, and they hug it out.

Cole reminds us next week we’re In Ottawa, Canada with a special start time of 6pm ET.

In the back parking lot, Fatu opens the door to a black SUV as the OTC Roman Reigns comes out and his handed his WHC title. He comes down the ramp for his pyro and gets into the ring as we await Jey Uso and the delivery of Sikoa.

First, he asks Buffalo to acknowledge him. He says there’s a receipt he needs to collect. So he demands to bring him Solo Sikoa.

Out comes the Usos with Sikoa as the crowd “YEET~!”-s away. Sikoa and Reigns stare at each other once they get in the ring. The crowd is still pretty loud. Reigns said he doesn’t care what they’re saying. Just the sight of Solo pisses him off. He reminded Sikoa three years ago in tribal combat he beat him. They show a video package of Sikoa acknowledging Reigns. But Sikoa makes his own Bloodline and insults Jey. They keep repeating Sikoa acknowledging his tribal chief.

Reigns asked Sikoa why he thinks it’s funny. He’s got his fancy watch, his gold chain. Reigns takes his sunglasses and stomps them. He asks Sikoa why isn’t he on his knees begging him?

Fatu comes in and attacks Sikoa with the Tongan Death Grip. After about a minute, Reigns orders Fatu off him. Reigns said he’s not too funny now. He says the twins, the Usos, are the captains of the plays. Reigns gives them both black leis as Sikoa is still on the ground.

But before they can get back to business with Sikoa, out comes LA Knight. The Usos go after him and are thrown outside. Fatu from behind attacks Knight, but before he can apply the Death Grip, Reigns stops him. Superman Punch by Reigns to Knight.

Reigns picks up Sikoa and orders him to end Knight. Sikoa keeps saying he’s sorry. Then he turns around and Samoan Spikes Reigns! The Usos freak out as they wonder what just happened.

Jey charges Sikoa but gets thrown outside the ring. Jimmy gets a BFT from Knight. Fatu is just standing there. Sikoa sends Jey into the barricade and hits a Samoan Spike on Jey. Now Knight is in Fatu’s face. Fatu can’t raise a finger.

Reigns charges Knight for a Superman Punch, but Knight catches him for a BFT. Knight and Sikoa fist bump as they leave, leaving everyone wondering about the Bloodline that Sikoa was supposed to join.
